Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 August 2026
These Terms of Service govern purchases from Tween Theory and use of tweentheory.co.uk. By placing an order, you agree to these terms. They should be read together with our Return and Refund Policy, Shipping Policy and Privacy and Cookies Policy.
1. About us
Tween Theory is the seller and website operator. Our contact details appear at the end of these terms. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Tween Theory; “you” means the customer or website user.
2. Eligibility to order
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to place an order. Although our clothing is designed for tweens, purchases should be made by an adult or with an adult’s involvement. You are responsible for ensuring that information provided at checkout is accurate and complete.
3. Products and descriptions
We take reasonable care to describe and display products accurately. Screen settings can affect colour appearance, and minor differences may occur between production batches. Product measurements are approximate unless stated otherwise. These points do not allow us to supply goods that are materially different from their description or of unsatisfactory quality.
4. Availability
All orders are subject to availability. Placing an item in a basket does not reserve it. If an item becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you and refund the affected amount. We may limit quantities where reasonably necessary to protect genuine customers or manage limited stock.
5. Prices, delivery charges and promotions
Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Any taxes we are required to charge and the available delivery costs will be displayed before you place the order. We may change prices prospectively, but this will not affect an order already accepted. Promotional offers are subject to their stated conditions, dates and availability and must be applied before checkout unless stated otherwise.
6. Placing an order and contract formation
After you place an order, Shopify will send an acknowledgement. This confirms receipt but does not necessarily mean the order has been accepted. A contract is formed when we send a dispatch confirmation, unless the checkout wording or applicable law requires acceptance earlier.
We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch for legitimate reasons, including unavailable stock, an obvious pricing error, suspected fraud, payment failure or inability to deliver to the address. If payment has been taken, we will refund the relevant amount promptly.
7. Payment
Payment must be made using a method offered at checkout. Payment services are provided by Shopify and/or third-party payment providers. You confirm that you are authorised to use the selected payment method. We do not normally receive your complete payment-card details.
8. Delivery and risk
Delivery charges and estimates are set out in our Shipping Policy. We remain responsible for the goods until they are delivered to you or your nominated recipient, except where you independently arrange a carrier that we did not offer. Ownership passes once full payment has been received and the goods have been delivered.
9. Cancellation, returns and refunds
Your cancellation and return rights, including our extended 30-day change-of-mind policy, are described in the Return and Refund Policy. Nothing in these terms restricts rights provided by UK consumer law.
10. Faulty or misdescribed goods
Goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If they are not, you may have legal rights to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund. Contact us so that we can resolve the issue. Any commercial warranty or goodwill policy is additional to, and does not replace, statutory rights.
11. Website and account use
You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, interfere with security or use the store for unlawful or fraudulent activity. If you create an account, keep your login details secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
12. Intellectual property
The Tween Theory name, logos, artwork, product designs, photographs, graphics and website content are owned by or licensed to Tween Theory and are protected by intellectual-property law. You may use the website for personal shopping only. You may not reproduce, sell, modify or exploit our content without written permission, except where the law permits.
13. Third-party services and links
The store is hosted by Shopify and may use third-party payment, delivery, analytics and marketing services. Third-party websites linked from our store operate under their own terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for unrelated third-party content, but this does not affect our responsibility for fulfilling your order.
14. Our responsibility to consumers
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or breach of rights that cannot be excluded. We supply products for personal and domestic use. We are not responsible for business losses where a consumer uses products for commercial purposes, to the extent permitted by law.
15. Events outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by an event outside our reasonable control, but we will take reasonable steps to reduce the effect, keep you informed and provide any cancellation or refund rights required by law.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the store, our practices or the law. The terms in force when your order is accepted normally apply to that purchase. Updated terms will be posted on the website with a revised date.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory protections available in your home jurisdiction and may be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts. Please contact us first so that we can try to resolve a complaint promptly.
